Shopping agents are beginning to buy on behalf of consumers. Most retail media inventory is invisible to them.

Somewhere in the next few years, a meaningful share of purchases in your category will be completed by software acting on a consumer’s instruction. The agent will compare products, weigh reviews, check availability and buy. It will do all of this without ever seeing a banner, a homepage takeover or a sponsored placement built for human eyes.
That is the uncomfortable question sitting under every retail media roadmap: what happens to media built for people when the shopper is a machine? Display inventory that a human scrolls past at least registers. To an agent parsing structured data, it does not exist at all.
The networks that survive the shift will be the ones whose product data, feeds and inventory are queryable by agents: structured, complete, machine-readable and priced for outcomes an agent can verify. That work starts now, while agentic volume is small enough to learn from and early positions are still cheap.
Media built only for human eyes has a shelf life. The date is closer than the roadmap assumes.
Dedicated agents inside RMAIOS monitor agentic commerce developments continuously and prepare client inventory for them, so the network being built this year is not obsolete the year after. The question is coming either way. Better to have an answer designed than improvised.
